The Seraphim Cosplay Group is a group of original OC archangel characters, that will be designed by me. I am also open to collaborative designs, for anyone who would like to join. There will be a background storyline, I guess.

Below is a list of people currently in the group. Below that is a list of open archangels. They seem to fill up fast, but more slots can always be made. **Note: I may not be completely "Biblically" correct with my information, but im also making some up, cause thats more fun. It's a mix of theories. These archangels are taken from lists of several different christianic religions because they all have different lists.**

UPDATES:
- What I would like to do is get memory foam for the pads in our harnesses. They sell cheap memory foam mattress toppers @ Marshalls, about 20 bucks each. I think one pad is enough to cover all of our harnesses, so please let me know if you'd like to chip in to buy one. 
- I would like to have wings done or at least in progress by January 2010
- I will try to finish with all current designs by next weekend.... no guarentees, though. School. 
- Official work on the wings will begin after my wings are under way. I would like to work with the costumes in this order:
1. Wings
2. Headresses and solid costume pieces
3. cloth and other stuff

So today, I was totally suppose to go to home depot and buy wing material, but i just vegetated around the house after swimming. Also cause i pulled a back muscle while swimming from not stretching and it hurts like hell. STRETCH. You won't regret it. Anyways, I'll pay a visit to home depot tomorrow with my dad.

So I had a job interview with Body Shop, and I'd say the interview went pretty well. I just need to know now if I was hired or not so i can go  and SPLURGE on food and cosplay items... + clothes. But anyways, apparently I wont know until maybe a week or 2 from now. I'd say if I wasn't that was a waste of a DAMN good interview. I totally hit it off with the interviewer and she kept talking about how I was just like her brother... and then when I went back in later, I was even introduced to another employee.... So, pray for me, guys. Or sabotage the other people who are also applying.

Aside from that, afterwards I went with my friend to H&M and tried on this cool shirt I liked... and then proceeded to take pictures with my armani sunglasses. But guess what... I altered them. THEY'RE SO LAME BUT I LOVE THEM. Check em' out, lol.

 • Post ten of any pictures currently on your hard drive that you think are self-expressive.
• NO CAPTIONS!!! It must be like we're speaking with images and we have to interpret your visual language just like we have to interpret your words.
• They must ALREADY be on your hard drive - no googling or flickr! They have to have been saved to your folders sometime in the past. They must be something you've saved there because it resonated with you for some reason.
• You do NOT have to answer any questions about any of your pictures if you don't want to. You can make them as mysterious as you like. Or you can explain them away as much as you like.

SERAPHIM WING UPDATE

So, after some research on the polycarbon, I discovered that it is drillable with a normal drill, cuttable with a rotary saw, and  even better, bendable with the application of a heat gun. I do have tools. 

I hope you guys have been reading the updates, including my idea to buy memory foam mattress toper from marshalls to use as part of our harness padding.

In anycayse, knowing the new information from the polycarbon, I know know that we can make some really nice lightweight harnesses, including harnesses that have solid shoulder straps(so it supports more weight and doesnt dig into your shoulders like normal straps would) and that we can also semi-shape the polycarbon to the curve of your back so its more comfortable. (that would take some minor plaster molding to find the shape of your back, maybe. 

So, thats my update for now. I'll let you know if i make any changes to the harness or complete my harness. :)

So today, I went to home depot to scout out possible alternate materials(i'm currently usinc PVC) for a lighter wing structure thats's just as sturdy. 

My list of possibilities is as follows:
WOOD:
- .75 inch 6ft wood pole - about as light as pvc $ 3.00 per pole
- 5/8x1 3/8 wood stick - about as light as pvc $ 3.00 per pole

ALUMINUM:
- 1/2 inch, 96 inch tall C-Channel aluminum, 1/16 thick. - as light, if not lighter than pvc $9.98 per stick.
- 1 inch, 96 inch tall, flat, 1/8 thick. - as light, if not lighter than pvc, no pricing shown
- 1/2 inch, 36 inch tall(my only concern) aluminum tube - as light, if not lighter than pvc... forgot to copy pricing.

The aluminum tube is my most favored candidate, because i believe that it is lighter than PVC and also sturdier.

As for backplates of harnesses:

- Acrylic plate, 20x stronger than glass, extremely light, medium flexibility, $3.15
- Polycarbon from LEXAN, 250x stronger than glass, nearly unbreakeable, extremely light, minimal flexibility(but still a little flexible), $3.75

For the harnesses, I would like to use polycarbon because it is solid, and yet flexible so it will conform to the shape of our backs more. However, my only concern is the drill-ablilty and cut-ability of it. If anyone knows, please let me know.

Sometime over the weekend I will go with my dad to home depot and we will take a look again and choose a material to use! :P I'll give another report then. 

On another note, when I was there, there was this guy who worked there that I kept seeing(well, i saw him about 3 times) who worked there... who had a big frown on his face. And his expressions didnt change... It was weird. When I walked through the parking lot he was also walking through the parking lot cause he was getting carts and he was like "..... have a good night......." when i over-passed him(we were walking in the same direction. And then as i got in my car and drove away(I was parked right next to the cart rack) he kept staring at me with the same frowny expression and i jsut sort of nodded @ him... o_O;;; 

 So, I rethought the wing making process that I researched/devised off the internet, and after some discussion with my dad, and came to the conclusion of a possibility of using lighter material than PVC for the wing structure.

Although it would be lighter, it would be more work to shape wings using w/e I decide on, for example, aluminum piping would requre cuting and locking in with screws and bolts, either that or heating and shaping, and bamboo would require heating and shaping. 

Later on today i'm going to go explore home depot for possible materials, as well as harness materials. Let me know if you have any suggestions are well.

 SERAPHIM LUCIFER ORIGINAL COSPLAY FOR THE WIN*G.

Because I actually decided that I CAN work on cosplays on my own accord, I've decided that I should really get started on my lucifer cosplay that's been put off for over a year, cause if I wait for my friend, GOD knows how many years will pass before it's done. SOLO BABY.

BUT, my question is if anyone else would be interested in doing an intense original cosplay that I design(or collab design), I will design it to your liking, of the Seraphims(Gabriel, Uriel, etc. do your research) Ask your friends!

I will post up pics soon of the development sketches(and no, they are not ugly or bad... i hope)... as soon as I find some way to get them back from my friend or just draw new ones(which I probably will). Yes these cosplays will involve huge wings. Don't worry, I know how to make huge wings(several methods actually)! And will definitely help you(takes time though :/)

So please let me know. ;< Don't leave me hanging. 

What I will need help on though is making things such as SOLID costume pieces(Like hats, gauntlets, armor) and maybe some prop parts. If you want to develop a wing harness thats like the ones they use for the victoria's secret fashion show, that works too. We'll need help with metal casting on that one, though.

I'd love it if you experienced cosplays (cough cough, hakuku itsukayume akusesu AND EVERYONE ELSE, you know who you are) would join me. So we can get some experience on the team.

 I could feel the wintery breeze fast approaching in my bones. I pulled my dull woolen coat snugly about me as I trudge through the wonderland of sanguinary colors and utter silence, swirling about me like a faint memory from last summer's love story. It was then that I noticed it. A minuet beat, and albeit faintly, I could feel it was near. Halting with the steady crunch of leaves beneath my feet, I reached out towards the abyss of falling autumn spirits, feeling for that gentle sound of muffled tapping among the wooden towers of the forest.

Somewhere, a piano sang.

I had finally found her. Floating myself silent over the chilled earth, I gained speed as the sorrowful lilt of the grandfather-like strings drew me in, closer, closer, until the melody abruptly, ceased. Here I stood, outside the a small tattered cottage, surrounded by the halcyon of the rising energy. She feels my presence. But it is already too late; She no longer has any options.

'Azmirelle!' my voice sang out. It pierced the silence of the frozen image that stood before me. The scene was almost blinding, the dark glow of sable feathers reflecting their lustrous magnificence among the shattered fragments of armor scattered about the floor. Her wings fully outspread, there she sat, petrified as the suddenly suspended song, Azmirelle.

'Azmirelle...' I spoke, but before I could continue, the ambrosial scent reached my senses. 'Azmirelle, wait-' but I collapsed, down among the remains of her restraints, and stared into her blank ice blue eyes, their divine stare piercing my thoughts. I gave in. It was all I could do to save myself from insanity.

Ah~ I found this entry among my myspace blogs. It was the story script for a manga I was working on. I wonder if I should continue, lol.

Soooo, now that i'm finally home, the reality that I escaped for 4 days is coming back with revenge and a side of fries D; 

I was suppose to have a violin lesson today where I was expecetd to play amazing, but we all know that failed! I only had 1 day to practice for it... luckily it got moved back to thursday. But aside from that, I also have 2 labs to do for ICompSci and homework to do by wednesday for Boolean algebra. >> Screw you summer school!! I think I'll be able to manage though... maybe. However my screwed up sleep schedule made me miss lab today, so I have to do it at home so my fault == but in anycase, I think the thing that is most annoying about reality is that I haven't worked hard enough for my violin major... I need to be practicing 3 or 4 hours a day, but the best i'm doing so far is 2 hours at most! And that aint working out. I also totally need a job... and to work out alot more, cause i'm way too skinny.

I also need to learn flash for work! (my web design job) D: Bummer! 

In other news, I got one of those icky premade profile layouts(though this one is quite cool, i just dont like premade layouts), as you can see, though i'll be changing that later when i get off my ass and make one myself... Also added a couple of icon, but you guys can see them when i post later. A majority of them are art by kidchan on deviantart, cause she is simply amazing. ;) Credits for the icons are in the descriptions.

So this weekend was AX! It was pretty fun, I cosplayed as Korea from Hetalia, thanks to itsukayume who made the costume. *Hence my profile pic, i guess* In any case, this was the first cosplay I was extremely happy with, so there will be more to come! (Planned for next year: RO trans class or 3rd class,

AX was the same as every other year, I suppose. Went to the dance every night, starved most of the time. Made a billion trips to Famima!!(family mart) though! I wish there were more of those around here. It's a very asian store.

Detailed AX Log!

Day 1: Korea
Woke up @ 9:00 and got things together to leave, picked up marilda around 10:30? I actuall stopped at Joanne's before leaving in HALF cosplay to pick up elastic for my costume, and that got alot of weird looks lol. On the way to LA there was alot of traffic, but we did manage to get there in 2 or so hours. I thought I could rely on my GPS, but my plugin thing in my car is broken, so no go there. Good thing I was able to call Jess for instructions. When we got to the con, we were able to go directly to parking... and parked for $12. It went pretty smoothly that day, we met up with itsukayume and headed over to hakuku 's artist alley stand! Hung out with itsuka and adora_tan and managed to make our way to the Hetalia gathering. I thought it was really funny how we were paranoid about avoiding Cosplay Cyborg, who was Canada on the way there. The Hetalia gathering was less fun than fanime, according to jennifer, but we did get some group pics. It was really hard to hear what they were saying though, and the korea's were neglected *tear* There were 4 of us! Pics will be up later. We later went to the dance, by which of then I was completely burning out every 1 minute because I didn't eat enough beforehand. My friend wasn't able to get in though, cause they didn't take school ID's and she was -18, luckily I was able to get have Jennifer lend her her license and get her in. Interestingly enough though, we saw cosplay cyborg after and i convinced her to  let us into the Westin's gym so we can get water.*the dance was out of it*

After the dance though, it was painful.... We planned earlier to stay @ marilda's friends house, who marilda thought lived 15 minutes away from the center, HOWEVER... she lived 1 HOUR and 15 minutes away from teh center. Already getting late, we had no choice but to drive there. Luckily, I had backup sources and the next day we stayed in Jess's hotel. Unfortunately, Marilda and her friend really didn't want to stay somewhere they had to pay so i was like w/e... and there goes 90$ down the drain. (30 each of us) Also drove 100 miles more than I expected to.

Day 2: Rave costume/casual
Day two was much more easier... We got to the con around 11:30 and just began chilling around. I don't think I went to any events this year except for Japanime Belly Dancing, which I thought was very funny. Half of it that I went to anyways. the rest of the day consisted of walking around and watching jennifer and her YGO group have their photoshoot. We managed to get moved into Jess's hotel and went to the dance again w/ bruce. Stopped @ IHOP afterwards! Some stranger smacked my butt @ the dance >_>;;;;;.

Day 3: Korea
I had slept on the floor of the hotel with only my korea costume and a jacket to cover me, so the morning was a very stiff and cold one. Managed to take a shower and get over to the con after doing marilda's hair and Jessie's Genesis(FF CC) Hair, met up with Tom Tom who was Uryu with an awesome arrow prop(pics later). Headed back to the hotel by foot after about 1 hour to work on Jessie's Kilik(air Gear) wig though... it was a very rushed process. Had to straighten it with hot water a couple times, melted my wig head a little bit and the plastic tissue box i was using(wig was okay though??? o_O) and cut it, but overall it looked good. The only problem was that I allowed too little hair for the sideburns. Too bad we finished @ 3:30 and the gathering was at 3!!!! Jennifer's LK costume was BOMB though. Later that night though, I put it on with sunglasses and went to Famima!! for food. Interesting stares lol..... It was the last day of dance, and we got shut down about 1 hour early because someone brought in alcohol. Bummer! We went to Ihop again afterwards.

Day 4: Korea
Augh... Woke up and managed to pack everythin up and get checked out. I could reach bruce for a very long time though, cause we had to get his stuff in our car. He couldn't find his phone, but he spent the entire last day stuck @ the hotel. In anycase, when I got to the convention I did my first actual browsing of the exhibit hall... nothing interesting though, cept for the $99 goth jackets at the lolita booth. Did a hetalia photoshoot afterwards with Jennifer and gang... was very excited, my first cosplay photoshoot. Afterwards, hung around and then met up with Ashley, Bruce, Marilda, Lindsay to drive back to her house and then drive back down... I got to Irvine around 11:00 ish and ate @ guppys. Got home around 12:30 after dropping everyone off... It was a long day. And then i got home and was brought back to reality. FML xD

I think I was the best korea @ the con! Alot of people agreed. So excited! Next year will be even more amazing.

Now I just need a job!
